This Wednesday arrives to Venezuela humanitarian aid from the WHO, UNICEF and Russia

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported on Tuesday that this Wednesday will arrive in the country humanitarian aid coming from the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the Russian Federation, to fight the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The information was released by the Venezuelan head of state in a telephone contact with the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19, installed in Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.

On March 25, the WHO approved a total of 2,000 million dollars to support and finance the governments that may require it to face the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which already totals 1.4 million infected people affected worldwide and more than 80,000 deceased.

At that time, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, indicated that the South American nation is within this group that will be served by resources from the WHO:

“Venezuela is within the group of countries that will benefit from resources provided by the WHO”, announced the Executive Vice President from the Presidential Command Post at Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

Moreover, Russia – along with China and Cuba – have expressed their humanitarian aid with Venezuela to confront this pandemic, with the shipment of medical supplies, machines and all the necessary instruments to face the pandemic in the country, which has already registered 166 cases, of which seven have died and 65 have recovered.
