Venezuela will have international observers this May 20

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, confirmed that countless electoral observers such as the Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America (Ceela) and the African Union, among other groups of international experts, will attend the Venezuelan electoral event.

From the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) in New York, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said that an invitation was made to the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization, António Guterres, to assist as an observer in the elections being called in the country for next May 20.

“We invited the UN’s Secretary General at the time, unfortunately the secretary told us he could not join us because these processes require more time for preparation for missions”

He stressed that the Venezuelan people are the only ones who have the power to express their opinion and decide who is and will be the President of Venezuela.
