Venezuela repudiates US statements on presidential elections of April 22

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, expressed its repudiation to the statement of the Department of State of the United States of America, against the electoral process for the presidential elections that was scheduled for April 22, 2018.

Following, the full communiqué:

BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA
MINISTRY OF PEOPLE’S POWER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS
COMMUNIQUÉ:

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its rejection of the statement of the Department of State of the United States of America for its repeated interference in the internal affairs of the country, in a clear violation of international law, particularly the principle of self-determination of the Peoples. Through its infamous statement, the US Government intends to judge the results of the presidential elections that will take place on April 22, 2018.

In its eagerness to overthrow the legitimate Government of Venezuela, the supremacist regime of Donald Trump exerts pressure on its internal subordinates, forcing them to ignore the achievements reached in the dialogue table of the Dominican Republic. All this, with the purpose of expanding its unilateral coercive sanctions, which have caused so much damage to the Venezuelan people, as recently acknowledged by a State Department spokesman who pointed out that “(…) the use of sanctions by the United States to punish Venezuelan officials and strangle the economy is absolutely working (…) ”

The supremacist, xenophobic, racist and warmongering administration of the White House, by pretending to tarnish the will of the Venezuelan people to decide their destiny without interference or tutelage, arrogates an attribution that no People has granted to them to qualify and prejudge the results of a process electoral that has not happened; which contrasts with the embarrassing endorsement given to the electoral fraud that recently occurred in our region, and which left a significant number of victims.

Finally, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its complaint regarding the campaign of the Government of the United States of America against the democratic institutions and the People of Venezuela, which continues to threaten the application of more sanctions that affect its stability and quality of life.
