Head of State is ready to sign peace and coexistence agreement with the opposition

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed that the Venezuelan delegation is ready to sign the agreement for peace and coexistence with the opposition.

“I want to ratify before the President (of the Dominican Republic), Danilo Medina, the former President (of Spain), (José Luis) Rodriguez Zapatero, that the delegation of Venezuela, presided by Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, is ready to travel to the Dominican Republic to sign the definitive agreement for peace and coexistence”, he said when welcoming at Miraflores Palace a civic-military march to commemorate 26 years of the rebellion on February 4, 1992.

The Head of State said that the opposition is divided. Even the representatives of the political groups that oppose the Bolivarian Government and who participate in the dialogue table have not confirmed their participation, nor the signing of the agreement that has been discussed in the Dominican Republic.

Last Wednesday, was made public the signing of a pre-agreement between the parties, which contains the points in which the parties agree.
