Prices must be expressed in Sovereign Bolivars from May 1

From this Tuesday, May 1, in the commercial establishments the prices of products, goods and services in the establishments must be expressed in both Bolivars and Sovereign Bolivars, as reported in the Official Gazette 41,366 dated March 22 this year, which made official the monetary reconversion.

For such purposes, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), Ramón Lobo, held a meeting with representatives of the National Superintendency for the Defense of Societal Rights (Sundde) in recent days to promote the placement of prices for products under the outline of the Sovereign Bolivar.

With the monetary reconversion, will be achieved a greater efficiency in the payment system, which will be favored with the management of smaller figures, as estimates the BCV.

Likewise, they will facilitate commercial operations and the calculation of all economic transactions, such as accounting records.

The new monetary cone, which will have coins of 0.5 cents and 1 bolivar, as well as 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 bolivars bills, will come into force as of June 4.
