2018 presidential election will consolidate peace in the country

“We Venezuelans do not want war, we do not want a civil war, we do not want a military intervention, we defend peace and tranquility in its economic, political, social and cultural expressions, that’s what we Venezuelans want, and we are in that process , that’s why we have called for the event of the presidential election”.

This was stated on Sunday by the Chairwoman of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodríguez, during an interview on the “José Vicente Hoy” (José Vicente Today) program, where she also said that the election process is the mechanism to consolidate the country’s economic development and dismantle the constant attacks of imperial sectors.

“Venezuela will rediscover its path of tranquility and economic development for the benefit of its people with the Presidential election”, she added.

Rodriguez indicated that the election process to elect the President of the Republic that is scheduled to take place before April 30 this year is part of a necessary cycle for the construction of the democratic and peaceful path in the country.

“Venezuela is at this moment in the construction of its own path that allows the defense of democratic coexistence, where we can express ourselves without any recurrence to violent paths”, she said.
