This Wednesday, December 27 begin the activities of the «Baile del Mono» (Monkey Dance) Folkloric Festival in Caicara de Maturín, where there will be a wide cultural agenda in the Cedeño Municipality of Monagas state.
The celebration starts at 8:00 a.m. with a gastronomic and craft fair in the Bolívar Square. In the afternoon there will be parade of «parrandas», a Grace Mass for the deceased «moneros», among other acts, until 12: 00 a.m. of the longed for «Grito del Mono» (Monkey Scream).
This popular festival has the acknowledgement of being a Cultural Heritage of Monagas State, Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Cedeño and a Site of Cultural Interest of the Nation.
