Between May 14 and 15, constituents will sworn in mayors

The National Constituent Assembly (ANC) delegated on Wednesday in its members the power to swear, between this Thursday 14 and Friday 15 December, to the 335 mayors of the country in their respective municipalities.

“We are going to be deployed throughout the national territory so there are the constituents in the respective states who swear in the new mayors in the presence of state, municipal and regional electoral authorities”, said the Chairwoman of the ANC, Delcy Rodríguez.

This decree, which defines the swearing-in process of mayors and mayors proclaimed in their respective municipalities and who must take an oath before the Original Power, specifies that:

-The act of swearing-in of mayors proclaimed shall be held jointly in each state before the delegated constituents and before the state authorities and the National Electoral Council (CNE).

– The swearing-in ceremony will be held between December 14 and 15, 2017. A record will be drawn up on the form and content assigned by the ANC’s board of directors.

– The sworn mayors will take possession of their position to exercise their functions in accordance with the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the laws.

– The decree must be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic.

During the ceremony, Rodriguez stressed that the election of several constituents as mayors in different municipalities of the country demonstrates once again the value of the Bolivarian project and the political prestige of the ANC.

“The results speak for themselves. For the Bolivarian Revolution, it is a punishment and a rejection of those who through the economy have tried to subdue and blackmail the people of Venezuela, and there was a process marked by a very high participation, “said the Chairwoman of the plenipotentiary body.
