Elections will be repeated in states that do not acknowledge the ANC

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Friday urged the opposition Governors elected in five states to acknowledge and be sworn before the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).

“The National Constituent Assembly is the supreme power of the country and we are all bound by the Constitution to respect its full powers. Anyone who wants to be a Governor will have to acknowledge the ANC, of not doing so, elections will be repeated in states where it is not acknowledged, and will be disabled those candidates who did not want to respect the law and the Constitution”, said the National President from Lara state.

He pointed out that the Venezuelan opposition must ratify and acknowledge the results of the regional elections, just as on other occasions the National Government has recognized unfavorable results.

“When they won in 2015, I immediately acknowledged the results, now we have consistently won 18 states, they have won 5 states, they have to define themselves, they shall respect the rules of the game, nonetheless”, he said.
