The real threat to Venezuela is represented by Colombia

Venezuela has not escaped nor escapes the onslaught of the permanence in time of the Colombian armed conflict, which touched Venezuelan border areas, in modalities such as extortion and kidnapping, among other crimes, carried out by the paramilitaries as actors in organized crime.

“Now it is a civil war that continues and much more with this administration (Iván Duque’s), which has been a total fiasco, it is not in the interest of the current administration to achieve peace with the guerrilla groups in conflict,” maintains the international analyst. , Basem Tajeldine, by illustrating the real impact and validity of the Colombian scourges in our country.

“The Colombian narco-state protects paramilitary groups to commit their dirty acts, which their formal forces (state military forces) cannot commit,” he said, noting that the real threat to Venezuela is represented in Colombia, and not the opposite, as it is wanted to make believe an entire campaign orchestrated against the country.

“Colombia has served (…) as a perfect justification to say that Venezuela protects the guerrillas, their natural enemies, and therefore use this excuse to attack the country, along with the United States,” said the analyst.

The conspiracy scenario

In March 2020, the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez, denounced the constant support of the Government of Colombia for conspiracy plans against the Government of President Nicolás Maduro.

The statements came after the seizure in Barraquilla (northeast Colombia) of weapons that were intended to be brought into Venezuela to commit targeted killings in that country, including that of the Venezuelan Head of State and Government.

Hours after the denunciation made by the high-ranking Venezuelan government official, public opinion is shaken by the confession of the former major general of the Venezuelan Army, Clíver Alcalá Cordones, who publicly declared that he had organized – from Colombia – a plan that provided for a series of selective murders, including that of President Maduro.

In an audio from W Radio broadcast on March 26, 2020, the former Venezuelan military officer confirmed that the weapons confiscated in Barranquilla, Colombia, three days earlier, were destined for Robert Colina Ibarra, alias “Pantera”, to attack the government’s stability from Venezuela and assassinate the ruler of that country.

Alcalá also assured that the seized weapons were part of an agreement between him and the opposition deputy, Juan Guaidó, together with “US advisers”, with whom he had met at least seven times to plan terrorist and paramilitary actions to depose the Constitutionally established government in Venezuela.

Among the seized arsenal are: 26 American-made 556 caliber AR-15, MOE assault rifles, 36 rifle butts, 28 two-eye night sights, AN / PVS7B, nine unmarked one-eye night sights, AN / PVS14, Eight rifle silencers, 21 Sigsauer rifle sight units, 24 Sparg rifle sight units, 14 Steiner laser designators, 15 Heds tactical military helmet, earth color, among others.

24 hours after the plan was unveiled, Alcalá showed himself to agents of the National Intelligence Directorate (DNI) in Barranquilla, to mediate their delivery to the United States (USA), a fact that was consummated hours later.

Coup plans are frustrated

In the early hours of May 3, mercenaries tried to carry out an invasion by sea into Venezuelan territory, as informed the Minister for Interior, Justice and Peace of the country, Néstor Reverol.

In the event, a terrorist group that tried to enter the Nation along the coasts of La Guaira state, from Colombia, was disarticulated.

The objective of this incursion was to commit terrorist acts in Venezuelan territory, assassination of leaders of the revolutionary government, increase the spiral of violence, generate chaos and confusion in the population and thereby lead to a new attempt of a coup d’etat.

In this regard, the president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, spoke, detailing that during the operation six vehicles, two speedboats and high-caliber weapons were seized; while eight people succumbed, among them Robert Colina Ibarra, alias “Pantera” (ally of Cliver Alcalá Cordones and Juan Guaidó) and an agent from the US Office for Drug Control (DEA) was arrested.

Minutes later, the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, pronounced himself, who assured that “the Bolivarian National Armed Forces is declared in permanent rebellion against US imperialism (…) and rejects from its deep soul this aggression against the Homeland.”

The military operation promoted by the US governments and Colombia was frustrated thanks to intelligence information that came from New Granadean land and the effective deployment of the Bolivarian Shield operation for the defense of the Homeland.

Venezuela in battle against paramilitarism

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, has given the instruction to combat the presence of any armed group in Venezuelan territory and asserted that “it is from Colombia that violence, drug trafficking, fuel trafficking, armed groups of all signs, kidnapping and all binational and transnational crimes”.

In addition, he maintained that there is a reality and that is that the United States and Colombia are conspiring and have given the order to fill Venezuela with violence. “As Head of State I am obliged to defend the peace and stability of the entire Homeland, in any circumstance that comes our way.”

Venezuela continues to struggle in the face of this reality and based on all these threats and the knowledge of plans to create a false positive and bring the Colombian war to Venezuelan territory, the Government – along with the people – in perfect civil-military union has plans for everys scenario.

“If any day the Colombian imperialism and oligarchy dares to touch us, prepare yourselves for the Bolivarian fury of a people that wo you all!”
