ANC rejects new sanctions against Venezuela by the US and Canada

To defend the right of self-determination and demanding the cessation of sanctions and threats by the governments of Canada and the United States, were the basis of a decree that was approved on Tuesday by the Constituent National Assembly, in ordinary session.

This instrument, endorsed by the more than 500 constituents, rejects the new sanctions and imperial strategies that both nations have imposed on the country “in order to intervene on internal matters that are the exclusive competence of the Venezuelan people and the institutions of the State”, states the decree read by the first vice-president of the ANC, Elvis Amoroso.

The decree states that this “Is a tool to pre-configure the intervention of our country based on the doctrine of terrorism,” and which also “to seek for substituting the Government of President Nicolás Maduro”.

“We demand that the Governments of Canada and the United States adjust their actions of international law and refrain from acts that violate national citizenship”, said the document, which will be published by the ANC.

The president of the organization, Delcy Rodríguez, said that the work of all constituents is to pay tribute to the defense of peace and sovereignty of the Republic.

“Peace is the only way for our country. The dialogue, and we give (our) absolute support to the proposal of dialogue of President Maduro”, she said.
