Constituents must be clever on that they will defend the people

The candidate for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), Diosdado Cabello, said Sunday that those elected on July 30 “Must be clever on that they will defend the interests of the people and not of any business group”.

During the campaign for the Constituent Assembly in Monagas state, Cabello urged the candidates to go to the streets to listen to the needs of the people:

“All of us must become the spokesmen and women of the people, we must go through the streets listen to the proposals of the people.”

“Let there be no privileges of some over one another. If you registered your name, then make your campaign with dignity without speaking badly about the partner”, said Cabello, in the company of the people of Monagas state and local authorities of the entity

In relation to the plebiscite convened by the Venezuelan right wing, the revolutionary leader recalled that it has no legal validity: “The plebiscite does not exist in the Constitution and there is no figure to support it. The dictators of the world have done that to legitimize themselves, we go through the constitutional path, through the path of peace”, he said.

Diosdado Cabello warned that if the opposition came to take power in Venezuela, they would not hesitate to end the social programs and benefits granted during the revolutionary period.

“Would the right wing come to power, you may have the certainty that the first thing they would do is to suspend the pensions … never more could be accessed housing, they would privatize education and State enterprises, that must be prevented through the Constituent Assembly”, he said.
