The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, has highlighted the celebration of popular assemblies throughout the entire Venezuelan territory to promote the debate on the National Constituent Assembly convened last May 1st.
“The Constituent spirit has been awakened throughout the country. It is being given a great Constituent dialogue throughout the country, a dialogue accompanied by daily and permanent actions”, he said during his participation in the “Domingos con Maduro” (Sundays with Maduro) program, broadcast from the spaces of the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas.
Since the installation of the Presidential Commission for the Constituent Assembly a total of 600,000 people have participated in the meetings celebrated in 69,000 educational spaces of the country, among these the environments of the Ribas, Sucre and Robinson Missions.
According to the balance offered by the Chairman of this instance, Elías Jaua, on May 22, about 22 legislative councils of the country have pronounced, through support agreements, in favor of the National Constituent Assembly.
To this adds the meetings with representatives of political parties of the Great Patriotic Pole and opposition groups not aligned with the Board of Democratic Unity, which convened more than 3,500.
