Maduro: Economic actions of the Revolution protect 80% of Venezuelan families


More than 80% of Venezuelan families are protected by the recent economic measures that has driven the Bolivarian Revolution to protect the socio-economic rights of the people, said on Thursday the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
In a joint radio and television broadcast, from Monagas state, the Head of State said that, through the protection of employment, wage and food tickets, a total of 6,300,000 families are being protected by the National Government.
“We are reaching the protection of an 80% of the Venezuelan families through stable employment, fair wages, socialist food ticket and socialist cards”,expressed the National President, who emphasized that the goal is to reach a 100%.
In this regard, he stressed that 9,700,000 workers are protected by the food ticket system that from September 1 will be placed in Bs. 42,480 monthly.
“9,700,000 workers are protected by the Revolutionary Government, and I’m willing to take it to wherever I have to take it” if attacks against the people by the right wing persist, said the Venezuelan President.
He also highlighted the increase, from 14,500 Bs to Bs 30,000; of the socialist cards of the Great Mission Homes of the Homeland, decreed last Monday; in order to protect 500,000 families in extreme poverty in the country.
“That socialist card will protect 500,000 families and I increased the protection to 30,000. That can only be be done in Revolution”, stressed the President Nicolas Maduro, while urging the Mission Alimentation and the Food Committees of Supply and Production (CLAP) to accept cards and food tickets as a way of payment.
Before the arrival of the Bolivarian Government, extreme poverty stood at 10.8% of the Venezuelan population. Today, after 17 years of social investment, this figure dropped to a 4.7%.
