In a clear and irrefutable demonstration of the popular will, the results of an opinion poll conducted from December 16 to 17 by the Dataviva company reveal the resounding rejection by the Venezuelan people of the recent aggressive statements and threats from the United States government, led by Donald Trump.
The survey, part of the study called Monitor Político (Political Monitor), which captures the national sentiment regarding the US escalation, demonstrates a majority, firm, and conscious position in defense of sovereignty, independence, and the inalienable right to self-determination.
Faced with the unacceptable statements of President Donald Trump, who intends to seize Venezuela’s oil, land, and natural resources, 97% of Venezuelans expressed absolute rejection of any foreign claim over Venezuela’s resources.
This overwhelming percentage ratifies the national consensus: the nation’s resources belong solely and exclusively to the Venezuelan people, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.
The consultation demonstrates, once again, the popular repudiation of the hostile policies promoted from Washington:
– Maritime blockade: 92% of those surveyed oppose this aggressive measure, which would constitute an act of war and a crime against peace. This confirms that unilateral coercive sanctions are perceived by Venezuelans as a mechanism of external pressure.
– Defense of the country against false accusations: 90% of the people reject the infamous and false designation as a «Foreign Terrorist Organization,» a narrative of criminalization fabricated to justify new aggressions against the nation.
– Intervention by the US imperialism: Faced with the possibility of an armed intervention, 90% of Venezuelans express their willingness to defend the homeland and categorically reject any form of foreign aggression.
The results of this poll send an unequivocal message to the international community: the Venezuelan people is united in the defense of its sovereignty. Beyond any internal political differences, which are resolved democratically, there is a common position regarding external threats.
