In a telephone conversation that reinforced the bonds of brotherhood and bilateral trust, the presidents of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, reaffirmed their joint commitment to defending sovereignty and counteracting threats to peace in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The dialogue, held recently, began with President Pezeshkian’s direct congratulations to President Maduro on his birthday, celebrated on November 23. The Iranian leader then conveyed the firm support of his government and people to Venezuela in the face of the constant aggressions and hostile provocations that the country has faced.
In his remarks, President Pezeshkian strongly condemned these actions, considering them as a flagrant violation of the principles of international law and a dangerous precedent for all the peoples of the world: «I reiterate the willingness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to stand by Venezuela and express our full solidarity and unconditional support,» he affirmed.
Likewise, he extended his wishes for happiness to the Venezuelan people and government for the arrival of the new year 2026, manifesting his conviction that it will be a propitious period to deepen the successful development of cooperation and the strategic alliance between both nations, always in the interest of development and peace.
For his part, President Nicolás Maduro thanked him for the call and conveyed a message of solidarity and affection to the Iranian people. He reaffirmed that bilateral cooperation «is nowadays in its best moment» and underscored his commitment to continuing to strengthen collaboration in all agreed areas.
In particular, the Venezuelan Head of State highlighted the continued relevance and centrality of the 20-year Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed with Iran, as the fundamental axis of joint efforts for growth and the defense of common interests in various bilateral and multilateral forums. This high-level contact demonstrates the strength of the alliance between Venezuela and Iran, and their mutual determination to jointly confront external pressures, consolidating a pole of cooperation at the service of the sovereign development of both countries.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation.
“Firstly, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, directly conveyed his congratulations to President Maduro on his recent birthday, celebrated on November 23. He then reaffirmed the support of the Iranian government and people during this period, in the face of what he described as threats to peace in Latin America and the Caribbean. He noted that all these hostile provocations violate the principles of international law and constitute a dangerous precedent for the peoples of the world. Iran reiterated its committed will to stand by Venezuela, expressing full solidarity and unconditional support.
Likewise, President Pezeshkian conveyed to the Venezuelan government and people his best wishes for the new year 2026, emphasizing his conviction that it will be a favorable year to continue working on the successful development of cooperation and the strategic alliance between both countries, always for the benefit of the development and peace of both nations. He added that he admires the consistency, strength, and determination with which Venezuela is currently developing, guaranteeing peace, and manifested his full confidence of that Venezuela will emerge victorious against any challenge.
