Vice President Delcy Rodríguez highlights growth in the hydrocarbons sector

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a work meeting with the Council of Vice Ministers of Hydrocarbons and the President of PDVSA, Héctor Andrés Obregón.

The meeting addressed strategic issues related to the country’s energy development and its future projections.

Rodríguez reported that during the meeting were made balances on production figures for oil, gas, and fuel, highlighting that these sectors show «a gradual and sustained growth.»

In this line, she emphasized the sector’s own efforts and the national and international alliances that are promoting investment in the country.

The Executive Vice President noted a significant rebound in companies related to the hydrocarbons sector, surpassing the levels of previous years:

“It’s a sector that is activated, as demonstrated by its nearly 17% contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth,” affirmed Rodríguez.

As part of the long-term vision, were analyzed projections for Venezuela as an energy powerhouse for the 2030-2050 term.

In the area of education, was announced the opening of new undergraduate programs in conjunction with the University of Hydrocarbons in five key areas.

Rodríguez critically addressed the United States’ energy policy toward Venezuela, describing it as “a colonialist policy of domination and control of our energy resources.”

She recalled that this approach has persisted since 1953 and affirmed that “in 2025 we experience the peak of U.S. desperation to seize Venezuela’s energy resources.”

Finally, the Vice President affirmed that Venezuela will maintain its path of production and national development, respecting international law in its political and economic relations.

«The way forward is through trade relations in accordance with international law, not barbarism or piracy,» she concluded.
