Minister Leticia Gómez highlights potential at the third UN Tourism plenary

The Minister of People’s Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, presented the country’s strategic vision during her participation in the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh. At the third plenary session, focused on «The Impact of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation on Global Tourism,» the minister highlighted the work of the Bolivarian Government in advancing new technological trends as tools to strengthen tourism.

During her address, Gómez emphasized the Venezuelan tourism development model, built on the principles of inclusion, social justice, and sustainability. This approach seeks to maximize the benefits of the technological age to ensure that the sector’s progress benefits all productive areas of society. She also underscored the significant challenges facing the tourism sector, specifically those related to unilateral coercive measures, travel warnings, and the international media campaign of discredit, which negatively impact the country.

“Despite these adversities, Venezuela remains steadfast in its tourism recovery,” affirmed Gómez. The Minister emphasized that this strategy is based on resilience, creative and responsible work, showcasing the country’s authentic reality, and highlighting the importance of community empowerment as a fundamental pillar of this reactivation: “This labor has begun to bear fruit, as demonstrated by a sustained increase in international visitor arrivals over the past four years,” she added.

Venezuela reaffirms its open-door policy, welcoming visitors from all over the world and inviting them to discover its destinations in an atmosphere of peace, sovereignty, and independence.
