The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, denounced that the United States (US) use “an absolutely extravagant, deceitful, and slanderous narrative” against the South American country.
This statement was made during an analysis of the narratives that the US attempts to impose internationally. «The US always wants to impose its narrative”, stated the Venezuelan head of state, adding that he constantly seeks «concepts and words that objectively and forcefully describe the moments we have experienced» alongside his team.
The President specifically characterized the communications campaign against Venezuela as «extravagant, deceitful, and also slanderous.» He stated that this strategy seeks to tarnish the dignity of a people he described as «decent, hardworking, and industrious.» President Maduro highlighted the resilience of the Venezuelan people, who «through its own efforts have managed to push its country forward.»
He emphasized that this progress has been achieved «despite the blockade and all the harassment we all know about in recent years.» This denounce by President Maduro comes amidst persistent diplomatic tensions between the two countries. He also reaffirmed Venezuela’s rejection of what he considers a smear campaign orchestrated from Washington.
Finally, the Bolivarian leader reaffirmed Venezuela’s commitment to continue its path of sovereign development, confronting external challenges through joint efforts between the government and the people.
