National Assembly strengthens interparliamentary cooperation ties with Russia

The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, held a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation between the two nations. During the dialogue, the officials discussed the implementation of the Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Treaty signed between Venezuela and Russia.

Through his channel on Telegram, Rodríguez reported that he denounced to his Russian counterpart the violations of international law caused by the US military deployment in Caribbean waters. Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the Caribbean as a zone of peace and supported the Venezuelan people’s determination to defend their sovereignty.

The parliamentary authorities expressed their support for strengthening a multipolar world, an objective shared by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Nicolás Maduro. This shared vision represents one of the fundamental pillars of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

With the recent signing of the Law Approving the Strategic Partnership Treaty, Venezuela and Russia have raised the standards of their political and diplomatic dialogue. Furthermore, cooperation is deepening in energy, mining, transportation, communications, security, and the fight against terrorism, as well as joint opposition to unilateral coercive measures.
