Chancellor Gil warns government of Trinidad and Tobago regarding false flag operation

Chancellor Yván Gil called on the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, to assume her responsibility before history and the Caribbean region. Through his channel on Telegram, the Chancellor stated that the dignitary faces a clear choice: Either to stand on the side of peace or sink into an agenda orchestrated by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

He reiterated that Venezuela has clearly informed the island’s government about a «false flag» operation directed by the CIA. He pointed out that this plan seeks to attack a US military ship stationed in Trinidad and Tobago to then blame Venezuela and justify an aggression against it.

The Venezuelan Chancellor compared this operation to «the same imperial script as the Maine ship and the Gulf of Tonkin,» referring to historical pretexts for starting conflicts. He noted that this is a matter of fabricating a conflict to impose interests alien to the region.

In this regard, the senior official emphasized that Venezuela hopes Trinidad and Tobago will act accordingly and not allow its territory to be used for maneuvers that threaten the peace of the Caribbean. The Venezuelan government expressed its respect for the people of the sisterly nation and his confidence in their conscience to prevent the country from being dragged into a «dirty war operation.»

Finally, Chancellor Gil asserted that, while Venezuela will not fall for provocations, no one should be confused, because it will defend its sovereignty «without hesitation.» The diplomatic note underscores the warning as authorities closely monitor developments on the island.
