President Nicolás Maduro urged an end to discriminatory and xenophobic statements against the Venezuelan identity. Through his channel on Telegram, he defended the character of the people, describing it as «decent, honest, hardworking, supportive, and humane.»
The head of state specifically rejected comparisons between the Venezuelan identity and criminal groups that, as he asserted, «are already finished in our country.» Faced with this situation, he proposed a concrete solution: «The great vaccine against this situation is the unity of Venezuelans.»
As part of this strategy, he highlighted the fundamental role of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace. During an assessment of the establishment of this body, he stated that «barely a month after its establishment, a great work has been done.»
The president noted that Venezuela currently enjoys «a broad majority consensus among Venezuelans who want harmony, dialogue, peace, and understanding.»
He described calls for military intervention or the bombing of Venezuela from abroad as «cowardly.» He emphasized the need to counter these positions with an organized movement.
Finally, he stressed the urgency of building «a large, sector-based national and international movement to strengthen consensus against war and in favor of peace in the Caribbean.» This initiative seeks to consolidate positions of dialogue and rejection of violence.
