The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, officially relaunched the Great Mission Venezuela Joven (Young Venezuela – GMVJ). This relaunch includes the ratification of its highest national leadership, headed by Génesis Garvett, and the appointment of seven new leaders to head each of the vertices that comprise this socialist program.
During the 92nd edition of his «With Maduro+» program, the head of state instructed the new leaders to dedicate themselves full-time. The objective is to achieve a «nuclear acceleration» of actions in favor of Venezuelan youth in the coming weeks and months, with concrete goals to be met by December 31.
He emphasized that youth leadership must be centered on the territory. This is where energy must be channeled to build actions that guarantee a bright future for new generations, working directly in the communities.
The president recognized the work of the mission’s founders and previous leaders. He emphasized that many of these young people now hold high-ranking positions in the government, mayoralties, ministries, the National Assembly, and other state agencies.
The President urged consolidating the GMVJ as the unique synthesis of Commander Hugo Chávez’s legacy in youth matters. He emphasized that this mission must bring together all existing youth initiatives, putting an end to what he described as «patchwork quilts» in order to unify efforts.
The renewed mission is structured around seven pillars with new leaders: Education (Wilmer Vásquez), Labor (Bellmary Landaeta), Recreation (Niyelsy Núñez), Health (María Marcano), Cities (Eirimar Malavé), Communication (Erick Chávez), and Democracy (Victoria Londoño).
Finally, the president urged people to avoid declaring victory prematurely and focused on the need for continuous work, innovation, and learning. He urged the systematization of accumulated experience to effectively support the country’s youth.
