The Binational Zones of Peace and Prosperity represent a fundamental pillar in the joint commitment of Venezuela and Colombia to strengthen integration, social well-being, and stability in their border regions. This bilateral effort was highlighted by President Nicolás Maduro during the activation of the Peace Quadrants throughout the national territory.
The Venezuelan head of state reported on the significant strategic progress made in the development of these zones. Specifically, he detailed that Binational Zone No. 1 has gained speed and depth in its implementation, while Zone No. 2 is in an advanced phase, ready for the signing of the corresponding bilateral agreements.
Regarding Zone No. 3, corresponding to another border axis, President Maduro stated: «What shines is improvement.» This panorama of progress and hope directly benefits the communities living in these binational areas, promising a more stable and prosperous future.
“What is seen on the horizon is peace and happiness for the binational population of our sister Colombia and Venezuela,” said the president. He emphasized that this integration process not only strengthens ties between nations but also boosts the power of Venezuelan social movements.
This impulse includes sectors such as fishermen, working-class neighborhoods, and the peasant movement. As part of this commitment to rural development and food sovereignty, it was announced that progress is being made toward the creation of the Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Foundation.
Finally, President Maduro reaffirmed his vision of a united and peaceful Venezuela, extending this principle to cooperation with its neighbor: “From north to south and from east to west, the homeland is blessed, and we will guarantee territory after territory of peace.” The Binational Zones are a tangible reflection of this strategy for territorial peace.
