President Nicolás Maduro has praised China’s advancement as a world power, calling it a role model for our nation. In a message broadcast on his channel on Telegram, the president highlighted the relationship between the two countries, which he referred to as a brotherly friendship without imperialist, colonialist, or slave-owning visions. This statement was made within the framework of the 80th Anniversary of the Chinese People’s Victory in the War of Resistance.
Maduro highlighted the rising of China, noting that it has become the «first military power on the planet.» For the president, this development represents an example of what Venezuela seeks on its own path, consolidating itself on what he described as the «path of socialist revolution.» These words stress the close ideological and political relationship that unites Caracas and Beijing.
In his message, the Venezuelan president also referred to a recent milestone in cooperation: the construction of a monument at the Warairarepano mountain (Caracas) commemorating China’s victory in the war. The unveiling of this monument, whose creation was made possible through the collaboration of the civilian population, the army, the police forces, and the Venezuelan government, was an event attended by the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, Lan Hu.
The president described this project as a «perfect union between the Venezuelan people and their military personnel, cadets, officers, soldiers, police forces, and the Bolivarian Government.» This collaboration at the Warairarepano not only symbolizes the friendship between the two nations but also serves as a tangible testament to their deep cultural and historical connection.
To close his statement, President Maduro sent special greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China. He concluded his message with the phrase: «Long live the friendship between China and Venezuela!», reaffirming his government’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening diplomatic ties and cooperation with the Asian giant, which he considers as a strategic ally.
