More than 550 agreements signed at International Business Roundtable to strengthen touristic engine

The 2025 International Business Roundtable, held from August 14 to 16 at the Poliedro de Caracas hall, concluded with a positive outcome: 557 trade agreements were reached and more than 667 exchanges took place between representatives from 15 countries. Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez highlighted the event as a key step in diversifying the Venezuelan economy, boosting tourism as an essential driver of national development.

During the closing ceremony, Rodríguez highlighted the agreements with tour operators from Azerbaijan, Cuba, and China, focused on promoting Venezuela as a multi-destination tourist destination. She emphasized that the country boasts natural beauty, biodiversity, and cultural richness, key elements for positioning itself in the global market. She also highlighted the participation of airlines, tourism chambers, and accommodation providers, consolidating an integral services network.

The vice president noted that, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), 2025 will be a record year for the sector, surpassing pre-pandemic figures. With more than 371 million jobs created worldwide, Venezuela is investing in this sector to reduce its dependence on oil. Rodríguez emphasized that the country has already recorded 17 consecutive quarters of economic growth, with tourism as one of its main contributors.

One of the most notable achievements was the growth of social tourism by more than 700%, along with the certification of community routes throughout the country. Rodríguez mentioned the 7 Transformations Plan, which has led to a 940% increase in local tourism circuits, thanks to the work of the Ministry for Tourism (Mintur) and organized communities.

The International Business Roundtable is consolidating as a key strategy to attract investment and showcase Venezuela’s economic and cultural potential. With the support of the National Government and the private sector, the event reinforces the vision of a diversified economic model, where tourism plays a leading role in the country’s recovery and sustainable growth.

This meeting not only strengthens international alliances but also boosts local employment and production, demonstrating that Venezuela is moving toward a new stage of economic and social development.
