During the closing ceremony of the First Pedagogical Congress of Bolivarian Teachers, held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the progress of the Venezuelan education system: “We have surpassed the 90% of school enrollment rate in the country and are moving toward the goal of 100%. The fact that 85% of children and young people study in public institutions reflects a historic achievement.”
The president emphasized that only 15% of students are enrolled in the private sector and reiterated his support for educational institutions such as Fe y Alegría (System of Catholic Schools for the most needed), as well as Catholic and Christian centers. He also announced the creation of the National Corporation «Together Everything is Possible,» focused on improving school infrastructure.
To strengthen educational inclusion, a coordinated plan will be implemented with the Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCh), community leaders, and community councils to incorporate more students into the system and consolidate universal education.
Scientific Seedbed: Training with patriotic values:
Maduro also emphasized that 625,000 young people are participating in the Scientific Seedbed, a program designed to train future professionals with a patriotic vocation and commitment to national development: «This is the education that builds the Venezuela of the future: a nation with solid principles and the capacity to innovate,» he stated.
With these initiatives, the government reaffirms its commitment to free, quality public education, aligned with the challenges of the 21st century.
