During the closing ceremony of the First Pedagogical Congress of Bolivarian Teachers, President Nicolás Maduro called on the Teachers’ Constituent Movement to promote debate on cognitive warfare and strategies to counter its impact. He emphasized that this battle, driven by imperialism and transnational corporations that control social media, seeks to manipulate the minds and emotions of Venezuelan youth and the people.
Maduro emphasized the need to bring this discussion to the schools, high schools, universities, communities, social communication organizations, community think tanks, and grassroots sectors. He also warned about the seriousness of this conflict, which he described as one of the most crucial today, driven by global elites with hegemonic interests.
The president urged Venezuelan teachers to strengthen national awareness through critical thinking, the defense of cultural identity, and communication sovereignty in all educational and community spaces. With this initiative, he reaffirms the Bolivarian Revolution’s commitment to cultural independence and the construction of a conscious, free, and humanistic society.
