During his visit to the Hugo Chávez Frías Socialist Commune in El Manzanillo (Zulia state), President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the transformative capacity of the People’s Power to overcome critical moments such as the guarimbas (riots) of 2017.
The president affirmed, From the Dr. Juan Saba Rivera elementary school, where he presented the progress of the Communal Government System, that although they attempted to divide the country into 20 pieces, with sweat and tears, the organized people demonstrated its resilience.
Communal spokespersons present at the event emphasized how unity in the territories guaranteed peace during the destabilization attempts. The president also highlighted the Carnet de la Patria (Homeland Card) as a key tool of the Social Protection System, which, along with the government’s economic plans, strengthens citizen confidence and counteracts the impact of coercive measures. This coordination between grassroots organizations and public policies, according to Maduro, consolidates the path toward maximum social happiness for the Venezuelan people.
