President Maduro reaffirms his proposal of holding a World Peace summit

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed this Monday his proposal to convene a World Peace Summit, aimed at the major powers, those countries involved in conflicts, and international leaders. He insisted that peace will not be achieved by the United States or Israel, but by the nations that need it and wish to avoid a world war escalation:

«I reaffirm, humbly but with determination, the invitation to the world powers and leaders to a major peace summit,» he declared during his «Con Maduro+”program. He also reported that he has sent letters to various leaders, highlighting the role of CELAC President Gustavo Petro in promoting initiatives for Latin America to contribute to the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

President Maduro warned that the goal is not to avoid a Third World War, but rather to prevent its spread, as he considered that it «is already underway.» He referred to the situation in Palestine as an example of the violence unleashed, and called on the peoples to prepare to halt its advance.

He also criticized the threats by US President Donald Trump to impose 100% tariffs on Russia if a peace agreement is not reached, accusing the US and Europe of seeking the destruction of Russia and China: «The strategy includes devastating Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran before directly attacking Moscow and Beijing,» he stated.

The national mandatary emphasized that, although Venezuela is not a military or economic power, it is a «Bolivarian power» with a firm voice in global geopolitics: «We speak the truth to the world, and we defend peace from our position,» he concluded.
