Head of State reaffirms the FANB stands on a war foot against mercenary terrorism

«Today, the FANB is deployed from North to South, from East to West, in combat against criminal, violent, and terrorist mercenary groups arriving from abroad, from Colombia,» stated the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, during the Military Promotion Ceremony of the Presidential Honor Guard and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), which took place this Wednesday.

From the theater of the Bolivarian Army Military Academy in Fort Tiuna, Caracas, the president highlighted the DGCIM’s recent operational successes in neutralizing terrorist cells, in line with the revelations made by the Minister of People’s Power for Internal Affairs, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, regarding the capture of Colombian mercenaries.

In his speech, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces emphasized that the peace that Venezuela enjoys today is a product of the unbreakable unity between the people and the Armed Forces, consolidated through years of revolutionary training and merit-based promotions:

«Venezuela is at peace and has taught lessons to the imperialism and the oligarchy, because the backbone of this triumph is the absolute unity and cohesion of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). This cohesion has been achieved through the meticulous care, in justice and clear criteria for the training, development, and promotion process at all ranks over these years,» stated the Commander-in-Chief.

During the activity President Maduro emphasized the trascendence of the military labour, indicating that the greatest thing a human being can have is his homeland. In this regard, he emphasized that Venezuela has been blessed to be a liberator of an entire continent and, in the 21st century, to be a «defender of the values ​​of dignity, freedom, and the right to development of the peoples of the Global South and of this planet.»

The ceremony was also attended by the First Lady Cilia Flores, the Minister for Defense Vladimir Padrino López, and other members of the Military High Command, accompanied by 464 personnel who received promotions in various ranks and ranks. 356 belong to the Presidential Honor Guard and 108 to the DGCIM, including: Navy Colonel and Captain; Lieutenant Colonel and Frigate Captain; Corvette Major and Captain; Navy Captain and Lieutenant; Frigate Lieutenant and First Lieutenant; Supervisory Sergeant, Assistant Sergeant, First Sergeant Major, Second Sergeant Major, Third Sergeant Major and First Sergeant.
