During the reopening of the Casa del Obrero (Worker’s House) in Propatria (Caracas), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the United Nations (UN) to promote a major agreement to denuclearize all countries in the world and for countries that possess atomic bombs in order to completely eliminate them:
«From Venezuela we ask: If the peaceful use of nuclear energy is prohibited in the world, who prohibited it? Or did they prohibit countries from possessing atomic bombs? Because if that’s what they did, I agree that countries should be prohibited from possessing atomic bombs. Then, the United Nations should promote a major agreement to denuclearize all countries in the world, and for countries that possess atomic bombs to eliminate their atomic bombs. From Venezuela, we propose this,» he emphasized.
He also added: «The only thing left for the Zionist groups is the terrorist attack, the threat to the religious leader and the constitutional head of state. That is an unacceptable threat, threatening the head of state of a country with 90 million inhabitants, which is part of the United Nations system. Where is the United Nations system going?» questioned President Maduro, while challenging the organization’s Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, regarding this situation.
Along the same lines, he denounced the manipulation of the media to benefit Israel in the Middle East conflict, as well as Israel’s aspiration to have total control over the wealth of the Middle East in partnership with US imperialism.
He pointed out that the March for World Peace, held this last Thursday, June 19 in various Venezuelan states, was aimed at ending the war and the imperialist maneuvers to draw the Iranian people into a nuclear war. He also added that «what is happening against the dignified people of Iran is a plan that is being developed in phases.»
«We have denounced it. What is happening against the people of Iran is a plan that has been developed in stages: first, to destroy, bomb, and wipe out the Gaza Strip and Palestine, which is resisting; then to wipe out and destroy southern Lebanon and intimidate the Lebanese people; then to attack and destroy the government in Syria, then to advance the threat against Jordan, the reinsertion of terrorist groups against Iran, and then a violent escalation against Iran,» he said.
Finally, he asserted that Benjamin Netanyahu suffers from Hitlerian delusions, while urging world leaders and international organizations to stop Israel’s project and thus avoid a nuclear war.
