The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and First Lady Cilia Flores, are present this Tuesday, June 3, at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected governor of Sucre State, Jhoanna Carrillo.
The event, held in the Bolívar Square in that coastal entity, began with the President’s greeting to the people of Sucre and continued with a cultural presentation by the youth who, under the sunset in this eastern part of the country, are beginning a new chapter in their history.
Jhoanna Carrillo, representative of the Great Patriotic Pole Simón Bolívar for the regional elections held on May 25, emerged victorious in the race with 94.40% of the votes, becoming one of the most voted candidates in the entire country.
Jhoanna Carrillo Takes Over as Governor of Sucre with 5 Key Tasks:
«I met this young woman, Jhoanna, amidst the vicissitudes of the struggle of social movements, and from within the social movements, from the grassroots, with that oriental force that she carries, she became the founder of the Great Venezuela Women Mission, and then, in the grassroots nomination process, you visualized her with a clinical eye. (…) Jhoanna Carrillo, from her nomination to her registration as a candidate, has a successful track record,» recalled President Maduro.
For her part, First Lady Cilia Flores emphasized feeling a great closeness to the people of Sucre and praised Carrillo as a leader: «We feel the love of Sucre state, the strength, here we breathe peace, harmony, solidarity (…) We told ourselves we couldn’t miss this swearing-in. This is history, the first female governor of Sucre, this is a beauty, and we know that with the government plan and her willingness, we know that what’s coming is better; they chose the best,» she said.
5 tasks for the people of Sucre:
President Maduro set some tasks for the people of Sucre, to prioritize and work on their development:
1) The creation of the state’s Concrete Action Agenda (ACA), with the instrument of the 1×10 Good Government System and the Homeland Plan of 7 Transformations.
2) The activation of the Communal Self-Government Chamber as the governor’s main instrument of government.
3) The deployment of the Bolivarian Government’s Mission System and Major Missions, with the aim of strengthening them and helping to promote entrepreneurship, the construction of the Grandparents’ Home, and other tasks requested by the people.
4) The activation of all Productive Engines linked to Sucre, in order to «free the state from the fascist remnants of the economic war» and activate its productive muscle.
5) The fight for peace and justice against terrorism, drug trafficking, and corruption in all its forms, against the mafias, so that there may be peace and tranquility.
