The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, from the headquarters of the «Salvador Allende» Latin American School of Medicine, categorically rejected the unfounded and serious accusations made by the ultra-rightwing María Corina Machado.

During the 99th episode of his «Con Maduro+» program, in the «Digital Zone» segment, the Head of State referred to the statements in which Machado falsely claimed that «60 percent of the Venezuelan population is involved in drug trafficking.» The President described this statement as «extremely serious» and indicated that it is up to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to evaluate these accusations against the Venezuelan people.

«She said something extremely serious, extremely serious (…). That 60% of the Venezuelan population is involved in drug trafficking,» expressed President Maduro, expressing his profound rejection of what he considered a demonstration of hatred against the homeland.

The national leader contextualized the widespread repudiation that, according to data from the international firm Data Viva, this ultra-rightwing agent generates, indicating that 89% of Venezuelans reject her.

President Maduro pointed out that such statements are part of a fascist campaign that seeks to create a pretext to justify a foreign armed intervention in Venezuela, a request that Machado herself has made in the past:

«Calling for an armed and bloody intervention is a demonstration of her hatred for the Bolivarian people,» he affirmed.

Referring to news about Machado’s health, the President was emphatic: «They say she has a broken vertebra; what she has broken is her brain and her soul, because she is a demon. She hates Venezuela.»

He added that the opposition figure «manipulates the four followers she has left» and that her actions are a result of dementia caused by hatred. «Generally, I don’t pay attention to what she does, because she’s crazy, demented with hatred (…). She is a criminal, she calls for invasion and war,» he concluded.
