Officials from the National Electoral Council (CNE) presented this Tuesday the implementation of the electoral horseshoe system that will be used in the National Assembly (AN) and Regional elections, to be held next Sunday, May 25.
From the CNE tent located in Plaza Caracas (Caracas Square in downtown capital city), officials from the electoral body reported that everything is ready for the 2025 National Assembly and Regional elections. The entity also emphasized to the media present that the electoral horseshoe system, which organizes the flow of votes at the polling stations, is designed to reduce the time voters spend at the polling station.
In this sense, the electoral horseshoe is made up of the following four stations:
-. Voter Identification
-. Voting Station
-. Deposit of the voting receipt in the safekeeping box
-. Voting Booklet Station
After conducting tests during the simulation on May 10 and the Pre-Dispatch Audit on May 18, the governing body assures that the estimated voting time will be an average of 50 seconds lower per voter, allowing for a rapid and smooth flow at all polling centers across the country.
This coming May 25, 21,458,669 voters are eligible to participate in the electoral process, where they will be able to elect a total of 569 positions: 285 deputies to the National Assembly (AN), 24 governors, and 260 regional legislators.
Those interested in knowing which polling station they will be voting in during the democratic journey can send their ID number in a text message to the 2637 phone number. In case of having any questions or problems, the 800-votemos (0800-8683667) toll-free number is available, providing direct assistance to any voter who may require it.
