The little girl Maikelys Espinoza is welcomed into the arms of her mother and grandmother at Miraflores Palace, accompanied by the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores de Maduro, who welcomed and safeguarded her at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, on the morning of Wednesday, May 14.

A moment of great emotion was experienced at the Presidential Palace with the welcome of Maikelys, a little girl whom President Maduro called “the daughter and granddaughter of all of us.» The head of state also thanked all the mothers and grandmothers and the people of Venezuela for their solidarity, for «this family reunited today,» and the team of the Vice Presidency of the Republic, along with Delcy Rodríguez and Diosdado Cabello Rondón, and especially the president of the National Assembly, Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, who made all the arrangements as a peace envoy with the United States authorities for this rescue.

He also thanked God «for bringing this girl into the arms of her mother and grandmother» and emphasized that he hopes to rescue the girl’s father and all the 252 people kidnapped in El Salvador since March.

The president took the opportunity to ask «to all the migrants who might be watching us, I ask you to come back; do not believe in a false homeland, here we resolve among us, and build our homeland and the home of Venezuela, the home of all. This is the land of freedom, hope, and happiness!» he exclaimed.
