The Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela achieved the seizure of the largest haul of high-purity cocaine in the region, more than 5,000 kilograms. This represents a severe blow to Colombian drug trafficking through successful policies against this scourge and the country’s mafias, as stated President Nicolás Maduro Moros this Monday:
«The Venezuelan government is a world champion in Latin America in the fight against this scourge and the mafias,» he stated on his «Con Maduro+” program, in the Zona Digital segment, acknowledging the effectiveness of military, police, and grassroots operations in jointly destroying irregular groups financed by the DEA and FBI.
He recalled that Operation “Relámpago del Catatumbo” (Catatumbo Lightning) continues the process of dismantling drug trafficking gangs «linked to María Corina Machado, whose purpose in December and January was to attack key locations in the country.»
«This is a blow in full swing, a blow against drug trafficking in Catatumbo, a direct blow against Iván Duque and Álvaro Uribe,» he warned, referring to the business dealings of former Colombian presidents who are free to roam free in their homeland without justice. He also denounced the illegal business of these individuals, which is financed with drugs and ill-gotten gains by the criminal María C. Machado, Edmundo González Urrutia, and the entire leadership of the stateless far-right wing:
«We have politically, economically, and logistically dismantled this gang. And this story keeps spreading… It will continue, but we can’t say more. We can’t say what’s currently developing, which will perhaps be a double blow,» he said.
