The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, reported through his account on the Instagram social network, that the national Government decided to limit to three the number of diplomats accredited in the embassies of the Netherlands, France and Italy.
Therefore, the Venezuelan Chancellor announced this measure to demand respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of the Venezuelan people, while indicating that the decision must be fulfilled within a period of 48 hours, which was communicated to the diplomatic representatives of the aforementioned nations:
«Venezuela demands respect for sovereignty and self-determination, principles established in the Charter of the United Nations, especially before those subordinated to the guidelines of Washington,» said the Chancellor.
Gil also stated that diplomats must have written authorization from the Venezuelan Chancellory to travel more than 40 kilometers from Plaza Bolívar (Bolivar Square) in (the center of downtown) Caracas, guaranteeing strict compliance with their duties.
He assured that the national government will continue to take the necessary actions, in accordance with International Law, to guarantee its stability, sovereignty and the path toward peace and prosperity achieved through its own efforts.
