Peasants, fishermen, fish farmers and commoners from all over the country will set up a camp in the vicinity of the Poliedro de Caracas, as part of the actions carried out by the Venezuelan people in support of the inauguration of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, scheduled for this January 10.
More than 8,000 peasants will participate in the Great Camp coordinated by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Minpesca). For the occasion, the vice president for Mobilization and Events of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nahum Fernández, said that the peasants and farmers are preparing “for the big day,” referring to the day when the head of state will begin another presidential term.
“The camp is part of an agenda of activities that include marches in Caracas and five regions of the country, four of which are bordering Colombia, and this is happening just when the revolutionary forces plan to make their presence felt on the avenues of the capital in support of President Maduro,” explained Fernández.
While the peasant working class is camping in the Poliedro, another International Antifascist Congress will be taking place, with more than 1,500 foreigners at the La Carlota Convention Center.
This activity was approved by President Nicolás Maduro during the World Congress of Antifascist Youth and Students, held in November 2024.
Both the camp and the congress are part of the Cultural Agenda for Peace and Joy of January Victory 2025, developed by the political and popular forces of the revolution.
