Chancellor Gil urges to mobilize peoples of the world against fascism

During the installation of the International Antifascist Promotion Committee, the Chancellor of Venezuela, Yván Gil, affirmed this Wednesday that humanity is facing the greatest political, moral and ethical degradation that history has witnessed since the 1930s; therefore, he urged those present to guarantee the mobilization of the working class and peasants to combat ultra-right wing tendencies throughout the world. Almost a thousand delegates from 75 countries participated in this meeting:

This effort that President Nicolás Maduro has launched is called to mobilize all peoples, precisely to combat fascism; in Latin America we also have important challenges to face,” he said. He exemplified this with the case of the government of Ecuador, which keeps the former vice president of that country, Jorge Glas, locked up: «This movement demands its immediate and unconditional liberation,» said the Venezuelan diplomat.

On behalf of the Venezuelan head of state, the Bolivarian Government, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and other social movements in Venezuela, Gil emphasized that «we are called to consolidate this vanguard, to not let it fall, and point out the path that the people must follow to definitively defeat fascism.» Thus, he characterized this class conflict as «a struggle for life, for peace, for equality, for justice, for the human being.»

He also indicated that all humanity faces the challenge of living, existing and coexisting, «and in this struggle that we face, on the other side we find capitalism; fascism is nothing more than a derivation, an element that imperialism and capitalism use to maintain their domination, their exploitation of workers. The anti-fascist struggle is also an anti-capitalist struggle, it is a struggle for the construction of socialism,» he inferred.
