Authorities reported on the progress in the recovery of Cumanacoa

From the Presidential Command Post, President Nicolás Maduro, in interaction with the authorities in Cumanacoa, specifically from the “Hugo Chávez” boulevard, received the report on the progress in the recovery of the entire affected area.

The Minister of People’s Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, Admiral Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, informed the Head of State that there is a deployment of citizen security bodies of 2,600 officials, including Civil Protection, Firefighters, VEN 911, State Police, Municipal and Bolivarian National Police (PNB).

For his part, the Minister of People`s Power for Public Works, Raúl Alfonso Paredes, indicated that a task force was established deployed on three work fronts, covering the affected area, where 27 machinery and 16 dump trucks have been activated, setting a goal for next Saturday, at 6 p.m. «we will have the entire territory 100% ready so that it can have mobility and clear the spaces affected by the rains.»

Minister Paredes highlighted the recovery of the Municipal Market, the Passenger Terminal, also affected in its infrastructure, in addition to all the internal roads of Cumanacoa.

Regarding the distribution of food, Minister Carlos Leal Tellería stated that since yesterday the entire logistical maneuver was organized to carry and distribute the largest amount of food necessary, for which three collection centers were activated in three schools. that were enabled for this task, with 100 tons of food and the organized support of the Pêople’s Power, the CLAP, for the radial distribution of food «at night there should be no community without having received food and protein animal,” he said.

By Saturday, in a second phase, 240 tons would be completed that would guarantee this population supply for the next 15 days.

The Minister of People’s Power for Water Attention, Marcos Torres, informed the Head of State that the Cumanacoa water system was affected throughout its catchment area, for which were activated 28 cisterns of 10,000 and 32,000 liters, mega cisterns of the Guard of the People, Hidrocaribe and the Ministry for the Interior and Justice, to be distributed in all sectors.

In the next 48 hours, it is planned to lift 50% of the water system for the distribution of water through pipes, as well as maintenance work on the “San Lorenzo” Water Treatment Plant, and the rehabilitation of the Barrio Blanca and La Granja wells, to fill the cisterns and expedite drinking water, concluded Minister Torres.

The Minister of People’s Power for Urban Agriculture and head of the Somos Venezuela Movement, Jhoanna Carrillo, reported that 49 Somos Venezuela brigades have been deployed with the participation of 480 brigade members in 47 communities, also activating the VQR application for house-to-house registration in the affected area, of the entire census and digital cartography survey.

For his part, the Minister of People’s Power for Electrical Energy, Jorge Márquez, in his report noted the restoration of 100% of the electricity supply in Cocollar, Cumanacoa and surrounding sectors. Likewise, he highlighted that in conversations with the presidents of Movilnet, Digitel, Movistar and CANTV, free internet service and phone calls were agreed upon in the next 5 days for the entire affected area.

The Minister of People’s Power for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, in his report notified the route of 83 kilometers of roads, from Cumaná, passing through Cumanacoa to San Antonio de Capayacuar of the Acosta municipality in Monagas State, detecting 11 edge faults , 2 fixed bridges that require maintenance, the collapse of 7 suspension bridges, “which are a priority, since some allow communication to 16 communities.”

In terms of housing, Minister Ildemaro Villarroel reported that together with the Ministry of Communes and Social Movements, 23 communal circuits and 176 Community Councils were determined in the Municipality to work in an articulated manner. 7,990 homes affected slightly or severely, which will be served with a construction material distribution point, including paint, cement, blocks, light bulbs, electrical accessories, doors, windows and roofs.
