“There are those surnames and oligarchies that have been and are allowed to be governed and commanded from Washington. The times of colonial domination, the times of subordination in Venezuela are over forever, and we will guarantee it with our lives.”
These words were pronounced by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro during the act of promulgation of the Law for the defense of Essequibo, held in the Elliptical hall of the National Assembly (AN):
“Today we are receiving a Law ratified in its organic nature by the Supreme Court of Justice and I can say with full knowledge of the facts, with all the powers and power that the Constitution gives me that the decision of December 3 in the referendum, now converted into the Organic Law of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, will be fulfilled in all its parts in the defense of Venezuela in international settings,” assured the head of state.
“After having seen the faces of kings, popes, presidents, prime ministers, I had never felt so much satisfaction in defending Venezuela face to face against the president of Guyana who simply became the puppet of ExxonMobil, the puppet of the British empire, the puppet of the Southern Command”, he emphasized
In his speech, the president denounced: “We receive daily attacks from within by an extremist fascist right wing that has not been able to and will not be able to do more harm to this country.”
He added that these attacks “also come from abroad, where the American empire attacks our Venezuela, a Venezuela that is living in peace, that is recovering, progressing economically, a Venezuela in permanent public debate, exercising its freedoms, its sovereignty,” he stressed.
He maintained that “the campaign on Guayana Esequiba managed to update the knowledge and give a voice to those who had never had it on this issue, it managed to renew the patriotic sentiment of a peaceful people who never resigned themselves to having their Guayana Esequiba stripped from them,” he asserted.
“Since Venezuela was a victim of the dispossession of its Guayana Esequiba, for the first time on December 3, 2023, the people were summoned to decide the fate and future of Venezuela’s rights over Guayana Esequiba, to express themselves with all its sovereignty, with all its power,” he stressed.
