Head of State held work meeting with Repsol executives

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a work meeting at Miraflores Palace with Repsol executives, to strengthen ties of cooperation.

It was known that the head of state received the executive director of this energy company for Europe, Asia, Brazil and Venezuela, José Carlos de Vicente Bravo, as well as the director of the business unit in Venezuela, Luis Antonio García Sánchez, who strengthened the ties of cooperation with a handshake.

It is noteworthy that, this December 18, the president of Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa), Rafael Tellechea, signed a Framework Agreement with representatives of the Repsol oil company, for the administration of the mixed company Petroquiriquire S.A., and the seven annexes and business units that make it up, with the aim of contributing to the promotion and growth of the oil industry in the country.

In this sense, will be established the bases that will allow improving the execution of the activities of the mixed company (made up of 60% by the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP) and 40% by Repsol), since Petroquiriquire has an impact on the Western Division, south of Lake Maracaibo and La Furrial, which is located in the East of Venezuela.

Likewise, the also Minister of People’s Power of Petroleum, stated: “We have reached two extremely important agreements for both companies”; In turn, he thanked the international industries “that have trusted and are present in the country; since, despite the difficulties, they are still working with us.”

For his part, the Solidarity administrator of Repsol Exploración, S.A., Francisco José Gea, indicated that “this signing means a further step in the relationship and commitment Repsol has shown with Venezuela, not only with the Industry but with the society that welcomes us.” This agreement boosts the industry, society and the relationship between Repsol and PDVSA; in addition to strengthening bilateral relations between Spain and Venezuela.

This agreement between PDVSA and Repsol is consolidated step by step, in compliance with the instructions issued by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for the strengthening of the oil industry throughout the national territory.
