It is worth remembering that the head of state, after receiving various complaints about the dangers derived from the oil overflows in Lake Maracaibo, and how these have affected the fishing communities, fishermen and the habitat in general, last July 24 during his stay in Zulia state to commemorate the bicentennial of the Naval Battle of the Lake, he announced the launch of the Special Plan for Attention, Decontamination and Recovery of Lake Maracaibo.
He entrusted the Sectoral Vice President of Public Works and Services, Néstor Reverol, and ordered an in-depth technical study with the aim of finding a solution to the oil spills in Lake Maracaibo, with the support of ministers and mayors.
In this sense, sectoral vice president Néstor Reverol assured: “It is the moment to act, and from here an extraordinary work plan will emerge. To attend all this problem we have freed ourselves from political distinctions, we assume the commitment as Venezuelans, at the four levels of Government: national, regional, municipal and popular”.
