Advancing diplomatic cooperation relations between Venezuela and Colombia

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, concluded the extraordinary bilateral meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.

Thus, these meetings summon the governments to the diversity of thoughts, in order to work for the shared well-being and the promotion of commercial and economic alliances, an area that is also linked to peace and border security.

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, arrived accompanied by the Colombian Chancellor, Álvaro Leyva, and other officials, who were received by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, the Venezuelan Chancellor, Yván Gil, and by his diplomat Armando Benedetti, at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.

In the first meeting between the two presidents of Venezuela and Colombia, President Gustavo Petro pointed out that “it is unnatural that both nations were separated for so long, since we are the same people, where we are united by historical, blood and genetic ties.”
