PSUV registered nearly 400,000 candidates for political teams throughout the country

Around 400,000 names were nominated in the more than 14,000 assemblies of the Bolívar-Chávez UBCh Battle Units throughout the country, to form part of the parish, municipal and state political teams of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, PSUV.

This was reported by the president of the political organization, Nicolás Maduro Moros, when offering a balance and congratulating the grassroots leaders who throughout the country participated in the democratic journey held on Saturday, November 12.

During his presentation, accompanied by the members of the PSUV political bureau, he classified this mobilization as a “transparent and unitary process, from the base, democratic”.

In view of President Maduro, this journey of nominations led by the organized people, forcefully reflects the concept of participatory and leading democracy embodied in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

In this sense, he recalled that thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez, the “concept of a representative, bourgeois democracy, a democracy of elites” was overcome in order to move towards a new political model with the leading role of the people, in which the bases choose their leaders:

The most democratic Constitution, the most guaranteed in all of Latin America and the Caribbean, in the entire continent, the broadest, is our project, our navigation guide and from here we can never depart, our project is democratic, libertarian, participatory, direct, popular and protagonist”, he emphasized.

He reiterated his congratulations to the street, community and UBCh chiefs for the example they show the world about democratic participation:

We rise up against the false democracy, against the bourgeois representative character. We insurged with Commander Chávez turning on the lights for the world and Latin America,” emphasized the top leader of the red party.
