The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, heads this Thursday the opening ceremony of the 18th International Book Fair of Venezuela, FILVEN 2022.

Under the slogan “Reading Decolonizes”, FILVEN 2022 pays tribute to writers Carmen Clemente Travieso, Iraida Vargas Arenas and Mario Sanoja Obediente, in addition to having Africa as the guest continent.

The inaugural activity took place in the spaces of the Venezuelan Pavilion at the National Art Gallery (GAN), in Caracas, and the fair will present 300 titles (200 printed and 100 digital) for all its attendees from this Thursday until next November 20.

During these 10 days of FILVEN, the public will enjoy more than 600 educational activities of all kinds, where they will meet Latin American exhibitors from Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Cuba.

Likewise, the activity will feature exponents from Spain and Africa, the latter being the honoree.

This event will also have forums, workshops, recitals and artistic activities for the whole family and book lovers.
