The National Government activated a special mission to reunite with their families the crew members of the Aerocargo del Sur Transport Company who remain kidnapped in Argentina.
The Ministry of People’s Power for Transportation scheduled a charter flight through Conviasa to transfer the relatives of the crew, the plane took off at 01:00 this Thursday morning from the Maiquetía International Airport «Simón Bolívar» and will arrive at the Viru Viru International Airport, in Bolivia, from where they will connect to Buenos Aires.
The nostalgia and anxiety was reflected in the faces of the 27 passengers. Mothers, fathers, wives and children of the workers, who arrived at the international terminal to start the trip that will make a reality the long-awaited union of sharing two weeks with their loved ones.
From the first day of the illegal retention, they had the support of the National Executive and the Venezuelan people, who have remained in constant mobilization to demand the return of the plane and the release of the crew.
Despite the absence of reasons to justify the arrest, the Argentine judiciary made baseless accusations against the crew members, classifying them as terrorists. However, with convincing evidence, the Venezuelan State has shown that they are employees of an airline that, in addition to offering transportation and cargo services, is used to carry out humanitarian operations.
José Ramírez Valdivieso, the son of Victoria Valdivieso, the only female cabin crew member on the Emtrasur aircraft, thanked the logistical and operational deployment that made this operation possible, and also expressed: «I feel very well, I haven’t seen her for a long time, she misses me as I miss her also, we will spend some quality time together. The first thing I’ll do when I see her is to hug her and tell her how much I’ve missed her”.
On her part, Isabel Cabello, who travels with her son and is the wife of the Aeronautical Maintenance Technician José García, expressed her joy just hours after reuniting with her family: “We are extremely excited, grateful for the support of Emtrasur, Conviasa and all the people who have been involved in this process and have made it possible. What we hope with this is to bring back our relatives, to bring back our plane”.
