The Judicial Proceedings Committee of the National Assembly (AN) informed that until June 28 will be received the applications of the candidates for the position of General Public Defender of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
This was reported by the deputy and president of the committee, Giuseppe Alessandrello, in statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV):
“The Judicial Nominations Committee began the process of evaluation and development of the designation of citizens who aspire to be General Public Defender, as established by law; and it will last until next Tuesday 28 of the current month”, pointed out the legislator from the gardens of the Parliament.
He explained that the day after the nominations are completed, the list of citizens nominated will be published to start the second phase, in which they object and evaluate in a comprehensive manner.
He pointed out that the call for applications is part of the AN’s re-institutionalization process that began in 2021.
For his part, the vice president of the committee, José Gregorio Corre, made a call on the citizen lawyers of the Republic to apply for the position:
“We will make a severe review of the postulates and the parameters of the law, we will present a schedule to have someone trustworthy to defend Venezuelans in trials and courts,” he emphasized.
