Venezuela participates in Conference of the Parties in Sweden

A Venezuelan delegation participates in the Conference of the Parties in Stockholm, Sweden, as reported the Minister of People’s Power for Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, through his account on the Twitter social network.

He stressed that the country left on record that “we take concrete actions in the fight against climate change”.

Lorca explained that they reiterated the commitment “to contribute effectively to the implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions, which allow better international governance of chemical products and organic waste”.

The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the decision-making body responsible for monitoring and reviewing the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. A total of 197 nations and territories, called Parties, have joined the Convention. The COP has met annually since 1995.
